Darling was born in 1980 in Ft. Polk Louisiana. She traveled the United States with her family growing up and along the way collected inspiration for each of her works and series developments. Her original schooling followed the course of commercial design through The Art Institute of Pittsburgh. When she came upon an opportunity to shift career and education she found artistic license in an avenue of provision of artwork to the hospitality industry.
In the fall edition of Atlanta Magazine 2019 she featured artwork for the Modern Style Show House that arrived on shelves far and wide. To further extend her reach Atlanta Home Magazine then requested an interview and published a full page on Darling in the Winter edition of 2020. Her works can be found in many hospitality spaces including Alta Clearwater, Denver General, and Julep Farms nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains of Georgia. To find her nature inspired creations you will be able to indulge at The Quinlan Visual Arts Center this year (date tbd) for a solo exhibition. Darling’s interests are in the process of life and repetitive patterns in nature. Her distinct style merges abstract detail with real life flora and fauna. Her work showcases ability to let line, shape and texture create rhythm that is timeless as it abstractly mimics the beauty in any given garden either wild or refined. |
